Last week we had the hottest weather we had ever experienced while living in Washington! It was in the 100’s in JUNE! That never happens! While this was happening I had accidentally soaked all my berries in Thieves fruit soak for way too long. The recommended time is 2 minutes…I soaked for 20+…It was on accident because, mom brain, but when I realized it I think it was too late. I thought it would be fine, but sadly when I offered them to my daughter, she did not live the taste! Fruit is her favorite thing in the world, and I ruined them…

She wouldn’t touch any of the fruit! I was so anxious because I wasn’t going to not give her fruit, but even if I did, she wouldn’t eat it! I then remembered…DUH SMOOTHIES!

A perfect option for a hot day and well…when you accidentally soak your berries too long. But really, smoothies are great anytime!

So I started experimenting to get all the veggies and fruits into all of her smoothies! I am not usually one to experiment with food, as I am not that great of a cook. haha However, smoothies have always been a favorite of mine and I never measure unless I am following a Pinterest recipe. So, I will say, I didn’t measure any of this recipe either, but I know approximates (which I will share), and feel free to do what works for you. As I have learned, you can’t go wrong with recipe-less smoothies!

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • BANANA
  • AVOCADO
  • FROZEN SPINACH (OR REGULAR, I LIKE TO THICKNESS FROZEN ADDS)
  • CHIA SEEDS
  • NUT BUTTER (WE USE UNSALTED NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER)
  • HONEY
  • PLAIN GREEK YOGURT
  • ALMOND MILK

This is one of the more “complicated” smoothies. And by complicated, I just mean more than 3 ingredients haha. But trust me, it’s DELICIOUS and jam-packed with nutrients!

Once you have your ingredients, in no particular order, add them to the blender and blend! The first time I tried this recipe I used a NutriBullet Baby System and the second time it was our new Ninja Foodi!

And that is it my friends! I hope your little ones and you LOVE this smoothie as much as we do! Stay tuned for more experimental smoothies that – if they turn out great – I’ll share! (:

ENJOY!

Avocado Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Prep Time 5 minutes
5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings 1 people

Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 1 Ripe Banana
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1/4 cup Frozen Spinach
  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Almond Milk
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

Notes

The avocado really gives the smoothie a thick and creamy taste so there isn’t any need for extra frozen items or ice. If you want to freeze a banana for the extra thickness you can, but isn’t necessary!Â
